Information Nights

Where we focus on info…

On our 3rd Monday of the month starting at 7:30pm we have information nights which will include:

  • Short talks or presentations by members
  • Guest speakers
  • Focusing on a theme
  • Mini-workshops, demonstrations etc

During 2025 we will continue to support dedicated theme nights through presentations. We will also have two evenings where members can share their images in a new way.
Information evenings will support the themes of Scapes, Macro/Closeup and Mono. Plus, we will take a closer look at evaluating photographs, and give members two new ways to participate in the club via our ‘Then V Now’ evening and ‘My Photographic Year’.  Any members wishing to pursue portfolios will do so and present them in ‘My Photographic Year.

More information about our program can be found under ‘What’s On‘ or in Google Calendar.

During 2024 we introduced ‘A Night in Parts’ and ‘Show and Grow’.
We continued with Portfolios as an option. Introduction and ongoing support for portfolios was given as a part of our new ‘A Night in Parts’ structure. Additionally we looked at several key elements in photography via our ‘Show and Grow’ information evenings where images from a previous learning session could be presented for discussion/support before commencing with the next learning element.

During 2023 we had a focus on developing a Portfolio of set works/Personal Projects.
We were introduced to portfolio projects and mentored across the year by Jim Crew from Lane Cove Camera Club.

During 2022 we started with three mini workshops delving into flash photography, choice of papers for printing and a quick peek at processing with Adobe Lightroom.
Information nights during the rest of 2022 included

  • Creative Photography with guest Shirley Steel
  • Portraits led by Club member Rob Skinner
  • Creative Photography led by club members Greg Pitty and Michael Peck
  • Macro led by club member Emmanuel
  • Birds/Animals led by club member Geoff Atwood
